Project Overview
GRAPHEK partnered with the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to update their Psychiatric News (PN) template and help guide their team through the process of a redesign.

BEFORE

AFTER
GRAPHEK’s team conducted an extensive visual audit, including looking through PN archives, competitor publications, and other newspapers for inspiration along with a mood board to guide visual direction.

It was important for APA to provide a design that didn’t feel like a complete departure from the original design, but rather an evolution of it, with the goal of not losing any of the brand loyalty that APA has grown over time.

We had the good fortune to work with GRAPHEK on the redesign of Psychiatric News, our monthly print publication, as well as related digital assets, and throughout the process they were true, fully invested creative partners. By encouraging us to focus not just on how we wanted Psychiatric News to look but on how we wanted our readers to experience it, GRAPHEK helped us reimagine our perfectly fine but somewhat staid periodical as something sharp and stylish, balanced deliberately and precisely between newspaper and newsmagazine. Our collaboration was a wonderful experience."
